Finally, a sign that Goodyear will be moving into its new headquarters soon

The first group of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. employees start moving into the company’s new $120 million global headquarters project next week and it’s likely many of them will be walking by a new street-level sign marking their new workplace.

Workers are putting the finishing touches on the new headquarters off Innovation Way, the street that was previously called Martha Avenue.

The building is connected via walkways to a new parking deck and the company’s Innovation Center.

The new sign put into place Friday will be visible to people going to and from the new lobby. A Goodyear logo also will be visible on both sides of the pedestrian bridge that crosses Innovation Way.

Most of the exterior work is done. Some work will need to be completed when the weather warms.

Goodyear employees will be moving through March from the company’s old headquarters on nearby East Market Street. That property and Goodyear Hall across the street will be redeveloped into new office and retail space, with parts of Goodyear Hall turned into apartments.

The tire maker has not announced what will happen to the large, iconic Goodyear sign atop Goodyear Hall.
