The University of Akron is sponsoring a breakfast panel, The Economy 2013: Rebuilding the Economy to Last Beyond 2013, at Quaker Station on March 19.
Panel members will be developer Stu Lichter, founder and president of Industrial Realty Group; Richard Ciccarone, McDonnell Investment Management; and Barry James, James Investment Research. Moderating will be James Thomson, professor and chairman of the Department of Finance in UA’s College of Business Administration.
The conference is open to the public; the cost is $30 per person. Group rates are available. Deadline to register is Tuesday.
Program topics include interest rates, the federal deficit and fiscal cliff, growth opportunities and development.
Registration is 7 a.m.; breakfast starts at 7:20. Welcoming remarks are at 7:50 a.m., followed by the panel conference from 8 a.m. to 9:20 a.m.
Lichter is nationally recognized for “adaptive reuse” of industrial and commercial sites around the nation. California-based Industrial Realty Group has significant Ohio projects, including the Goodyear campus in Akron, Hoover Co. in North Canton and Canal Place in Akron.
Ciccarone, a 1978 University of Akron alum, is managing director and chief research officer for McDonnell Investment Management.
James is president, chief executive officer and portfolio manager for James Investment Research.
Quaker Station is behind the Quaker Square Inn at South Broadway and Mill Street in downtown Akron. Parking is free.
