Small companies may seek business with government entities and other contractors — ranging from Cleveland’s new Horseshoe Casino to the federal government’s General Services Administration — at the area’s eighth Matchmaker event, June 5-6 at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
The event — sponsored by the Council of Smaller Enterprises and the U.S. Small Business Administration — was organized to create contract opportunities for area small business through one-on-one sessions between buyers and sellers.
Small businesses pay $159 to participate in the event.
For that fee, they get to schedule 15-minute sessions over the two-day period with private-sector buyers of products and services, federal procurement officers and state and municipal buyers.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, with the 15-minute sessions being held in the ballpark’s loges.
The cost includes continental breakfast and lunch both days.
Buyers signed up include Horseshoe Casino Cleveland; the federal General Services Administration; InterChez Logistics Systems Inc., based in Stow; the Ruhlin Co. of Sharon Township; the National Park Service; Steris Corp. of Mentor; the Ohio Turnpike Commission; the Ohio Office of Procurement Services, Lockheed Martin, with operations in Akron; the Cleveland Indians; Diebold Inc. of Green; Kent State University; Kokosing Construction Co., headquartered in Westerville, Ohio; the Ohio Department of Transportation; the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and NASA.
