The monthly natural gas price for residential customers who have chosen Dominion’s Standard Choice Offer (SCO), or those who don’t choose their own supplier, will stay the same for June.
Effective June 13, the identical Standard Choice Offer (SCO) and Standard Service Offer (SSO) rates will be $4.75 per thousand cubic feet (mcf).
On the Dominion bill, the rate will be listed as $4.748/mcf compared with May’s $4.752/mcf, but when the numbers are rounded, it is the same.
The new rates are $1.72/mcf, or 56.8 percent higher, than the record low June 2012 SCO/SSO rates of $3.02/ mcf.
Under the new filing, the average SCO/SSO residential customer’s bill for the month of June 2013 would be $37.17, up $4.71, or 14.5 percent, from $32.46 in June 2012.
Residential customers pay the same usage-based charges ($1.11/mcf to deliver gas to a residence) and $22.01 flat monthly service fee, regardless of whether customers choose their own supplier or stay with Dominion.
