ABOUT INFOCISION
Gary Taylor started the company in 1982 at his home after working for pioneer televangelist Rex Humbard. Among his early clients were Humbard and another nationally known religious figure, Jerry Falwell.
The company makes calls on behalf of conservative Christian and Republican causes and candidates, based on Taylor’s beliefs.
In 2010, the day after University of Akron’s InfoCision Stadium opened, Taylor suffered a heart attack that affected his ability to continue in any management role.
Karen Taylor now serves as chair of the board and both Taylor children, Craig and Lindsay, work for the company. Before his promotion to CEO on Wednesday, Craig Taylor was executive vice president focused on long-term strategy and growth. He also was responsible for overseeing expansion projects. He joined the company in 2003 and became full time in the call center in 2007.
According to financial information the company released recently, InfoCision is on pace to raise about $180 million in revenue this year. Its net profit will be about 5 percent, down from 10 percent in peak years.
