The Utica shale supply chain will be spotlighted in an Aug. 12 program in Akron.
The 16th Northeast Ohio Logistics Conference will be held at the Firestone Country Club.
The event is being hosted by the Northeast Ohio Trade & Economic Consortium and the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority.
The program begins with a conference at 7:45 a.m. and concludes with a buffet lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Presenters include:
• Chris Cotter and Shane Farolina of the Roetzel & Andress law firm;
• Jonathan Chastek of the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway Co.;
• Doug Allen of the Kenan Advantage Group;
• Nick De La Garza of Marathon Petroleum Co.’s Ohio Refining Group.
The conference will focus on modes of transportation that serve Ohio’s developing Utica shale formation.
The program is designed to “delve deeper into opportunities and challenges that logistics service providers in the area are experiencing,” said David Gutheil of the port authority.
At 1 p.m., there will be a four-person scramble golf outing on Firestone’s North Course.
Dinner with refreshments, golf prizes and more will be at 6 p.m.
