COLUMBUS: Ohio’s average gas prices are dropping as travelers say goodbye to summer.
The average per gallon of regular gas was $3.39 on Monday, according to the survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s down 13 cents from a week ago and 48 cents compared with this time last year.
The national average Monday was a bit higher at about $3.52 per gallon, a nickel cheaper than a week ago. A year ago, that average was $3.86.
The possibility of a conflict in Syria or the surrounding region recently drove oil prices to two-year highs. The price of oil fell Monday after the U.S. and Russia reached an agreement on getting Syria to give up its chemical weapons.
