CLEVELAND: Cleveland Hopkins International Airport has opened a new surface lot to provide passengers with another on-site parking option.

The Orange Lot allows passengers to avoid the additional time and inconvenience of taking a shuttle to and from reduced-rate, off-site lots.

Located near the terminal, where the long-term parking garage formerly stood, the Orange Lot will cost $9.50 per day.

Off-site, independent lots range from $4 per day (Crowne Plaza) to $8 per day (Park-n-Fly), depending on their distance from the airport.

“We’re excited about rounding out the airport system’s redeveloped parking program. With the opening of this new on-airport lot, we will be able to provide sufficient on-site parking for CLE passengers,” said airport Director Ricky Smith. “Coupled with our new on-airport economy lots, the Smart Parking Garage and the two off-airport parking acquisitions, passengers will experience a much more coordinated set of parking options.”

The lot will provide 1,000 parking spaces, most of which are available to the public.

A street-level crosswalk will give passengers access to the terminal for the present time, but the airport expects renovations to the current skywalk to be completed early next year.

Other on-site parking options include:

• CLE Curbside Valet, $21 per day, located on the upper roadway near the Delta Airlines ticket counter.

• The Smart Parking Garage, $14 per day, or $10 per day after 3 days.

• The Red Lot, $11.50 per day, and the Blue Lot, $8 per day.
