American Municipal Power is seeking to develop voluntary carbon market projects capable of generating carbon offsets.
The proposed projects include Ohio and five other states: Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.
The Columbus-based nonprofit energy wholesaler has issued a request for proposals.
Proposals must be in accordance with various American Carbon Registry or Climate Action Reserve standards, protocols and methodologies.
AMP is limiting proposals to forest management, afforestation and reforestation, coal mine methane, landfill methane, wastewater treatment and anaerobic digestion.
The deadline to submit proposals is 5 p.m. March 14.

Since 2010, AMP has developed two carbon reforestation projects on 210 acres in Ohio.
AMP members include the communities of Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Wadsworth, Seville, Orrville, Lodi, Brewster, Beach City and Cleveland.
