Trucking company YRC Worldwide Inc., which has Summit County operations, reported third-quarter financial results Friday showing net profit of $3 million, or 40 cents a share. That compared with a loss of $187 million or $153.74 a share in the year-ago period.
The company said its revenues were $1.24 billion, down slightly from $1.28 billion a year ago.
The company, which has been restructuring its finances, said operating income increased by $53.4 million. Operating income for 2012 of $27.3 million included a $2.3 million gain from asset sales. The company had an operating loss of $26.1 million a year earlier that included a $10.8 million gain on asset sales.
Chief Executive Officer James Welch said in a prepared statement that the company’s financial figures of earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization have increased each quarter since the third period of 2011.
