Staffing and consulting company Willory LLC of Bath Township, which provides temporary and permanent workers in human resources and payroll, announced it has purchased the staffing division of the Human Resource Department Inc. of Beachwood.
Willory picked up about 15 employees in the acquisition, including Lisa Dean, who served as the director of the staffing division, and roughly 14 “consultants” — workers who are on temporary HR staffing assignments. Chuck Niles, the founder of the Human Resource Department, said no one was laid off in the deal. Niles, who is retiring, said terms are not being disclosed.
Niles sold his business in two parts. While the staffing division was sold to Willory, the consulting division was sold to TAMS Group of Independence. Niles founded the Human Resource Department in 1994. It specialized in human resources staffing.
Willory, the Bath company, was founded in 2010. Its principal is John Bernatovicz, whose experience includes serving as a district sales manager for payroll processing giant ADP.
Bernatovicz said the bulk of the staff his company picked up in the acquisition are working in Northeast Ohio and serve a variety of clients, including small nonprofit organizations and large publicly traded companies.
Bernatovicz said the acquisition “furthers our position as a market leader in HR staffing” and “furthers our capabilities in HR.” Clients who worked with the Human Resource Department now have access to “a larger network of HR and payroll consultants and candidates” for permanent work, he said.
